“What If?” — A Movie that can Change the Way you See EVERYTHING — Clip 3

Author: Jenny Mannion  |  Category: Inspirational, consciousness, healing

What If?” talks about JUST how powerful we are as humans over our lives and our futures. In Clip #3 “What IF?“explains that stories from thousands of years ago, including ones from the Bible document people living for hundreds of years. I feel there are things we can do to live a much longer life and it is good to see this addressed. Clip 3 features Dr. Kenneth L. Cavanaugh and I am happy to introduce the next clip as well as tell you a little about Dr. Cavanaugh’s background.

There are key things we have forgotten that can keep us healthy and living longer. With all the distractions today I find it is easy to become “unconscious”. There is always noise; tv, radio, cell phones, IPODs, etc.. In consciousness you “remember” who YOU are and with that knowledge and remembering can improve EVERY aspect of your life. In those quiet moments you can connect back to your inner self and begin to awaken. For me the first thing I KNEW I had to do was consciously heal myself physically of all my dis-eases. I have no doubt that by doing that and by taking this new path in my life I will live a MUCH longer and happier life than the road I was on.

Dr. Cavanaugh is a Professor of Applied Statistics and a Senior Research Scientist at Maharishi University of Management. His research has focused on the quality of life after being taught Maharishi Transcendental Meditation. Dr. Cavanaugh has authored many scientific papers featured in “The Journal of Mind and Behavior”, “Psychology, Crime & Law” and many other prestigious publications. It is my pleasure to bring you Clip #3 from “What IF?” and Dr. Kenneth L. Cavanaugh:

So what do you think? Do you think it is possible for us to live hundreds of years? What has contributed to us not living consciously?

For more information on What If? visit their website and watch it on your computer for as little as $4.95 or buy the DVD to share with your friends and family. There is a lot of information in this movie that can change the way you look at things forever and open up your world. I welcome comments on this and would love to have a group discussion after more people have seen this important movie. Hi there Jenny – it’s great to come over here and find out the background of the people featured in these clips – I haven’t heard of any of them before.

I’m really enjoying promoting this movie – and doing it in tandem with you!

    Cheers – Robin

  2. Jenny Mannion Says:

    Hey Robin,
It is fun promoting and even more fun since we are doing this at the same time! This clip is so appropriate for your site and I thought of you the second I saw it. :-)

It is amazing to see so much work is being done to prove JUST how connected mind and body are. The “scientific proof” will just allow more people to accept it and better their own lives. It is a VERY exciting time to be alive!

    Cheers!
    Jenny

    Hey Jenny,

It’s about time we all realize our full potential. This “concept” is not new and we have been totally distracted from our true power. It’s not in the cars we drive or in the clothes we wear, but within all of us. It’s just a matter of remembering and acting upon those long forgotten memories. I know for me it is sometimes hard to drown out the distractions of everyday life. But like with any other habit that a person picks up, it can be done, if you want it badly enough. Thank you as always for your hard work and dedication to this site.

Best wishes and love for a happy, healthy 2009.
    xo Ange

    Hey Ange!

It always makes me smile to see you have visited! :-) Yes, it is possible to drown out those distractions and it is in those peaceful moments you realize JUST how loud it usually is. Habits take a little work to change but once you see the benefits it makes it a lot easier to stick with it.

Thank YOU for your friendship and support – having a good friend like you helped me TREMENDOUSLY in my healing (as I might have told you once or twice). ;-) Love you lots and am psyched to see you SOON! xoxo

    Hi Jenny!

Well guess what I am going to be seeing it tonight! The clips were awesome and we finally made watching this movie a priority and not put anything else before it!

I am very excited. I already know that I will love it! And I would love to introduce more people to it on Evolving Beings.

I will be back to let you know my overall impressions :)

“What if?” is a question I no longer ask so much because I make life choices to live in the now. There was a time when I permitted fear to control me more than I do now. It is very empowering to work toward fearlessness. I highly-recommend that.

    Hi Evita,
Would LOVE to know what you think and share thoughts on the film. Definitely an appropriate resource for Evolving Beings as well! Thanks so much for stopping by — I always love to hear from you. I wish you all the best for a happy, healthy and abundant 2009!

  8. Jenny Mannion Says:

Hi Liara, I think the movie asks What IF? because it is challenging the way many people see things…. I agree, asking that question can get you in a bad space if you use to to propel you towards worry or uncertainly… BUT you can also use it to explore other possibilities. I feel as long as you don’t stay there and use those answers that come up when you ask the question you to motivate you to action in the now… it is okay. I actually use that question now to un-limit what my mind tends to “put a cap on”…. WHAT IF I became a millionaire soon? It can get you in that FEELING state if used in this way and motivate you to action…. But yes living in the now and feeling grateful for exactly WHERE you are is wonderful! I am working towards fearlessness in all aspects of my life…. some areas it seemed like I snapped my fingers and was there — others need a little more time but I am always moving forward with the intention and am SO VERY grateful for how far I have come and where I am now.

Always wonderful to have you share your wise thoughts Liara! Thank you and I wish you all the best for 2009!

    Love, Jenny

Hi Jenny – I’m so looking forward to watching this. I just read about it all on Robin’s blog and it’s exciting news.

I was just telling Robin that I believe I’ve managed to heal my PMT symtoms, just using my mind. Isn’t that amazing? Of course, I’ll need to test it a few more months before I share it with everyone. But it would be awesome if people could heal themselves from more serious illnesses – like cancer.

Did you read the story on the Silva System website about the guy who got rid of cancerous tumours using his mind?

  10. Lance Says:

    Hi Jenny,
To the idea of living longer, and of living consciously – my thoughts on this: When I think about times long ago, and some of the great literary figures of long ago (Edgar Allen Poe comes to mind as one) – I really think some of these fine people really got the idea of living consciously. And, I believe it was because they were able to successfully remove much of the “noise” from their lives. And that was easier long ago, I think. Because there wasn’t tv, or radio, or ipods, or xbox’s, or cell phones, or computers, or … Today we have access to so much more information, know what foods really are best for us, know about the importance of exercise, etc, etc. We know the things that CAN help us to live longer lives. And yet, at the same time we are bombarded by noise. Noise that tells us to eat another pop tart. Or noise that fills our brains, not allowing us to really and truly “think”. And, if we can’t “think” for ourselves, how can we live consciously?

Today, we have the tools we need. Information. Resources. And yet, the noise of life cause conscious living to take a back burner (at best).

I think that today, like no other time in history, do we have the ability to live longer and more productive lives. However, it DOES require conscious living (and in today’s world, that is the hardest part of this equation, by far).

Jenny, I do think we can live longer! I do think we can live lives that are more consciously aware! And I also think that none of this is easy… I sit here, as I type this, with music on in the background (I’m not saying music is bad – just an example of “noise” – in fact I think music has very therapeutic effects). I tell myself I’m going to spend some time in the mornings, doing meditation – it happens about once every two weeks. Something else always fills in this planned quiet time – more of the noise of daily living. I’ve went on here long enough (sorry!) – in the end – I really do believe we can do much to improve both the quality of our lives, and the length of our lives. Yet, it’s going to take work to do…

Jenny, thank you, once again, for really making me “dig deep” and examine what this all means for me in my daily life… You are a true blessing in my life…

  11. Jenny Mannion Says:

    Hi Cath,

That is wonderful about your PMT symptoms! I have not heard of the guy on the Silva site but since studying the mind/body connection the last 2 years — I have heard of people curing themselves of everything from blindness, MANY cancers, MS, stroke after-effects and more. The hardest part is being willing to be open enough to CHANGE everything you were taught about healing growing up. In the movie “What If” they feature Brandon Bays who shrunk her “basketball” sized tumor down to NOTHING in 6 weeks! The mind is so much more powerful than we give it credit for and it mkes me so happy to see science finally catching up with this!

Thanks so much for your interest in the film, stopping by and I am so happy your PMT symptoms have gone! Whoo Hoo! 2009 is going to be the best, isn’t it? :-)

    Love, Jenny

  12. Jenny Mannion Says:

    Hi Lance,
I am so happy we have met as well! I love your posts as they always make me stop and think. No reply is too long for me! I’ve been known to leave quite long ones myself.

I do believe consciousness is the key to all of this and am also guilty of a lot of things you mentioned. I KNOW I should exercise and meditate daily yet something will “come up” that takes me away from it. Those 2 things bring me more energy and the feeling of being centered than anything else yet I somehow let the noise of life get in the way and distract me.

I feel as long as we’re moving forward it is just fine! I am getting pretty good at stopping myself when I here an “old recording” come up in my head. The funny thing is many of them I don’t even believe any more but some habits are harder to break than others. Most people are not like Eckhart Tolle who arrived in full consciousness in an instant. Many it will take a jarring moment or something BIG happening in their lives for them to BEGIN to look at life totally differently (for me it was my illness). And for others it is a gentle pull almost back to something it feels like they have forgotten. I feel like this frequently as well… not that I am LEARNING this stuff about the mind/body connection but rather “remembering”.

The most important thing I find is to stop and take notice of what interrupts my conscious moments and working from there…. Only we can quiet our minds and in that time and space are beautiful moments and HUGE revelations.

Always wonderful to hear from you Lance. I am glad my writing helps you examine what this means to you! :-)
    Love, Jenny

  13. Liara Covert Says:

Jenny, I understand what you mean. The idea of permitting your mind to wander to positive possibilities can be very constructive and inspiring for people. It requires mental discipline to learn not to allow your mind to wander to “what ifs” that are not encouraging and uplifting. Some people use this as a means to assume the worst. I know one person who asks, “what if the ocean is rough?” each time she considers taking a ferry short-cut to visit her family. She is not consciously wishing for rough seas, eaxctly, but she is not attracting calm conditions either. After she gets seasick, she says, “what if I get sick again?” That memory lingers. Rather than drive five hours, she can opt to drive two and a half hours and relax on a two hour boat. Yet, her mind sometimes shakes her up. I really appreciate the video clips you share about “what if.” As people evolve to think so positively, the idea of “what if” is a truly wonderful thing. This girl I describe does not really read blogs, but I will refer her to yours.

    Hi Liara,

Thanks for referring your friend! Yes, it is all in HOW you ask “What If?” Chronic worriers can learn they CAN keep this question in their own life but look at it differently for MUCH different results!

Thank you for visiting and your comment! Your words are always greatly appreciated!

    Love,
    Jenny
