Happy 3rd Anniversary Heal Pain Naturally

Posted by Jenny Mannion On August - 27 - 2010

So I don’t think forgetting your blog’s anniversary (August 1) is nearly the same as forgetting your wedding anniversary but I still felt badly about it! ;-) Is “forget” the correct word? I have been so caught up with life and living it this summer that it just did not fully make it to my consciousness – ok, so yeah I did forget! ;-) . In reflecting on the last three years writing for this blog I realize how many ways writing has been healing on so any levels. I had just physically healed and written my ebook on how I did so when I began this blog.  But as we all know healing is about more than the physical.  Writing Heal Pain Naturally

Gratitude and Giving Thanks

Posted by Jenny Mannion On November - 26 - 2008

This time of the year is when most in the US stop and pay thanks for all that is good in their life and for their family. Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday but I believe in giving thanks all year round — EVERY single day. Luciano from LiteMind is having a contest where you share your best personal excellence tip and my entry was on gratitude. I have written many posts on gratitude as it is the first G in my Paging Me System and was crucial in my healing. I would also like to take this time to give thanks to the newest blogs I have taken to reading on a regular basis — all of which offer inspiring words by wonderful writers. Lastly but not least I would like to…

Gratitude, Gratitude and MORE Gratitude

Posted by Jenny Mannion On October - 23 - 2008

There are a few blogs that do “weekly gratitude lists” and I am thinking I will definitely have to start one! One of the unforeseen perks of blogging was just HOW many wonderful people I would meet and how we would all help each other. When I looked back at the last month and saw just HOW much goodness was given to me I could not help but KNOW I would write a gratitude post! I am so fortunate to have so many people that have reached out to me in my personal life and in the past 16 months in my blogging life. Thank you to all the following people (in no particular order…..)!!!!!

Ray — my husband who designed my site and has dealt with tons of word press questions. Your patience…

10 Things That Made Me Happy Today

Posted by Jenny Mannion On July - 11 - 2008
Suzie from The Abundance Highway tagged me for the “10 Things That Make Me Happy” Meme. Since I ALWAYS LOVE to think about happiness and what I am grateful for — this is perfect for me. Thanks Suzie! One of the questions asked was what made you feel happy TODAY and that is the one I am answering….

1) Waking up and feeling it cooler than in has been but still having it be bright and sunny out (minus humidity).

2) Watching my children take and ENJOY tennis lessons and chatting with another mom who is a friend.

3) Thinking how happy I will be when Ray gets home — 3 hours — whoo hoo! (My husband is away from us all week working).

4) Picking up fence stain.

Appreciate EVERY Moment NOT Just the GOOD ONES

Posted by Jenny Mannion On June - 3 - 2008

I will begin with a poem by Rumi called “The Guest House”:

This being human is a guesthouse
every morning a new arrival
a joy, a depression, a meanness
some momentary awareness
comes as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture.
Still treat each guest honorably
he may be cleaning you out
for some new delight!

The dark thought, the shame, the malice
Meet them at the door laughing
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

This is one of my favorite poems and

Heal Yourself by Helping Others

Posted by Jenny Mannion On May - 14 - 2008
Let’s face it — everyone can use some help in something in our lives whether we ask for it or not. My history is being a person that has a very difficult time asking for help but one that loves to help others. To be healthy I believe you need to be able do both. It is important not to become a martyr, over-extend yourself or become the victim of energy vampires….. But helping others can enliven you and actually does have a healing affect. There are many ways to help people from assisting a neighbor or friend, to donating to a worthy cause to just being there to listen and encourage someone. I would like to tell you about 2 people that I believe could use your help, about a

New Year’s Resolutions — Making them Stick

Posted by Jenny Mannion On December - 28 - 2007
It’s that time of year again. Right after we have finished eating, drinking and maybe being a little TOO merry over the holidays it feels time to evaluate the year. What do we want to change for next year? How can we not only set the intention of a resolution but MAKE IT STICK?

This is very special to me this year because it marks one year of declaring that I would heal myself. Now, a year later I am 100% pain and pain pill free and am tremendously proud of myself. I had my setbacks, I had my “hard times” sticking with my goals but I never backed down and am living the rewards every day. Now I will set my goals for 2008 and the main one is that 2008

Being Grateful Heals

Posted by Jenny Mannion On November - 24 - 2007

When I was ill the first step I used from the movie “The Secret” to heal myself was gratitude. While sick and in pain it seemed easy to concentrate on what I could not do, what pain I DID have, what events I would have to miss… When I became aware that “energy flows where attention goes” I knew the very first step was changing the way I was looking at my life and expressing gratitude.

I became aware of all the beauty around me. Having grown up in NYC I was not surrounded by mountains and trees as I now am in upstate NY. I became grateful for my family. My daughter and son who are good, smart, beautiful kids who can always make me laugh. My daughter being healthy even though…
