This time of the year is when most in the US stop and pay thanks for all that is good in their life and for their family. Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday but I believe in giving thanks all year round — EVERY single day. Luciano from LiteMind is having a contest where you share your best personal excellence tip and my entry was on gratitude. I have written many posts on gratitude as it is the first G in my Paging Me System and was crucial in my healing. I would also like to take this time to give thanks to the newest blogs I have taken to reading on a regular basis — all of which offer inspiring words by wonderful writers. Lastly but not least I would like to thank the teachers from…

There are a few blogs that do “weekly gratitude lists” and I am thinking I will definitely have to start one! One of the unforeseen perks of blogging was just HOW many wonderful people I would meet and how we would all help each other. When I looked back at the last month and saw just HOW much goodness was given to me I could not help but KNOW I would write a gratitude post! I am so fortunate to have so many people that have reached out to me in my personal life and in the past 16 months in my blogging life. Thank you to all the following people (in no particular order…..)!!!!!
Ray — my husband who designed my site and has dealt with tons of word press questions. Your patience and love is so greatly appreciated…

1) Waking up and feeling it cooler than in has been but still having it be bright and sunny out (minus humidity).
2) Watching my children take and ENJOY tennis lessons and chatting with another mom who is a friend.
3) Thinking how happy I will be when Ray gets home — 3 hours — whoo hoo! (My husband is away from us all week working).
4) Picking up fence stain. 5 Minute Fence

I will begin with a poem by Rumi called “The Guest House”:
every morning a new arrival
a joy, a depression, a meanness
some momentary awareness
comes as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture.
Still treat each guest honorably
he may be cleaning you out
for some new delight!
The dark thought, the shame, the malice
Meet them at the door laughing
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

This is very special to me this year because it marks one year of declaring that I would heal myself. Now, a year later I am 100% pain and pain pill free and am tremendously proud of myself. I had my setbacks, I had my “hard times” sticking with my goals but I never backed down and am living the rewards every day. Now I will set my goals for 2008 and the main one is that 2008 will be to finances as 2007

When I was ill the first step I used from the movie “The Secret” to heal myself was gratitude. While sick and in pain it seemed easy to concentrate on what I could not do, what pain I DID have, what events I would have to miss… When I became aware that “energy flows where attention goes” I knew the very first step was changing the way I was looking at my life and expressing gratitude.
I became aware of all the beauty around me. Having grown up in NYC I was not surrounded by mountains and trees as I now am in upstate NY. I became grateful for my family. My daughter and son who are good, smart, beautiful kids who can always make me laugh. My daughter being healthy even though she was born 9 weeks prematurely.…

I have been married for 10 years now and know how important it is to take the time to feel gratitude for my spouse as well as all of the other close relationships in my life. It is easy to get caught up in what’s wrong but so important to concentrate on what’s right and what we are grateful for in our relationships.
Life moves SO fast. It seems I was always saying “it’ll get easier” but finally realized it is up to me to make it easier and that is done by how I perceive what is going on around me. With 2 young kids it is very easy for my husband and I to pass each other in the morning and at night saying “Did you do this?”, “Did you write this on your calendar”, “The kids need…
