Practicing Balance in Your Life

Posted by Jenny Mannion On October - 21 - 2008

This post is part of the “Life Balance Group Writing Project” created by Stacey Hoffer Weckstein of CreateaBalance.com

I have to admit this one made me THINK REAL hard. Me, a recovering perfectionist, mom of 2 kids ages 9 and 5, blogger with 2 blogs and an active Group Writing Project, home owner, inventor actively working on my invention, friend, only child, wife, daughter…. hmm how DO I practice balance and what DOES Life Balance mean to me? Life Balance to me means KNOWING what is important to you in your life and making sure that when you do those things you are present and doing them consciously. If you do anything while your mind is somewhere else and keep coming back to “what isn’t being done” you will feel like you…

I was saddened when I read the latest featured article on Dr. Mercola‘s site but at the same time was very happy to see the issue over the dangers of prescription drugs finally getting the publicity it so urgently needs. This country has gotten very used to popping a pill whenever anything feels a little out of whack with their body instead of investigating WHY they feel that way. Happy Birthday Aaron Potts

Posted by Jenny Mannion On January - 13 - 2008

I have been reading Aaron Pott’s blog Today is That Day since I started exploring the blogosphere in August. His writing is inspiring, he always has positive things to say and is a really great person as well as being such a phenomenal writer. His friends at his wonderful social network Personal Development Partners are getting together to show Aaron our appreciation and wish him a very happy birthday. I am grateful to be able to send birthday wishes to Aaron and to give him this tiny gift of appreciation for all I have learned by reading his writings. Happy Birthday Aaron — here’s a little poem for you:

Happy Birthday

Social Networking Sites with a Purpose

Posted by Jenny Mannion On October - 1 - 2007

Since I have healed my pain and illnesses I am spending A LOT of time on the computer. Blogging, researching, learning, studying and meeting people. The best thing about this whole experience has been the people I have met.

I must admit when I started I had a very “Doom and Gloom” feel about the future of our world. I watched WAY too much news, I was caught up in the “wow — isn’t that horrible” daily assessment of the way things are going. I still stay up on the news but I don’t let myself be consumed by it. I also have found some pretty amazing places to talk about things going on in the world where people have hope and are actively BECOMING and INITIALIZING the change they want to see in…

Everyone can use some fixing in their life, whether it be to heal some pain emotional or physical, to unclutter their house, to become more self aware, to handle anger better, to build self-confidence, to conquer fears or the millions of other ways you can improve yourself and your well being.

I am so grateful I joined the personal development blogosphere. It has enabled me to meet GREAT people, read incredible articles and learn from tons of wonderful blogs.

Priscilla Palmer started a personal development blog list that has been going over the internet with hundreds of GREAT resources for ANYTHING imaginable you feel you want to learn more about in the personal development realm. The List is now QUITE extensive and is listed below. I would also like to add my addition: Read the rest of this post
