Poisson Rouge — Fun Online site for Preschoolers

Poisson Rouge is a very different and fun online game/educational site for pre-schoolers. It is totally safe as there is no advertising. There are lots of activities and this remains one of my 5 year olds favorite all time sites to visit. Click on the image or fish to get you back to the main page and let your child wander and have fun and learn on this pretty and wonderfully sounding site.

Poisson Rouge offers:

Fun Dot to Dot Games – Connect the dots in space either freehand or using numbers

Poisson Rouge is a French site so you can do your ABC’s in French, English or Spanish

Puzzler is a fun game in which you pick the shape you want to put together with puzzle pieces.

123’s is a good way to learn numbers and has funny sounds and graphics to entertain young ones.

Aquarium is a good game…

Nintendo World — A COOL Place and Magic Pen — an AWESOME free online Game

NINTENDO WORLD STORE A few weekends ago my family and I went to NYC which is where I grew up. My son is a die hard Pokemon fan and after exploring The Central Park Zoo we went to FAO Schwartz in hopes of finding him cool Pokemon Stuff (My mom loves to buy them treats when they come into the city since it is so rare). Wow! I don’t know who was more impressed, my…

Mia and The Bugaboo Bugs — Great Reading Game for Ages 5-9

I have mentioned the “Mia games” before and recommended a reading and a math “Mia game” in my post “Kid’s Educational Computer Games (Ages 3-10)“. Mia and The Bugaboo Bugs is the newest installment from Kutoka Interactive and is appropriate for ages 5-9 and has 4 different levels so you can adjust the skill level for Reading accordingly (It is based on the curriculum for Kindergarten - 3rd grade). Mia is a cute girl mouse that can skateboard and in each game you lead her through an adventure that takes you through some learning games along the way. The Mia games are slow-paced and feel like you are immersed in the story. There is also an option at start up to play the 12 learning activities included instead of playing the whole adventure game — but I highly recommend the adventure game!

Play First Games

Play First Games is an online game site with LOTS of options. After the free sign up you can play the games under the online category, you can download games to try for an hour BEFORE you decide if you want to buy them or you can buy some great games to play. You can also download games for your mobile phone and there are also plenty of games for MAC users.

Play First has many different types of games from online, to Mac, games for your mobile phone, action games, puzzle games, strategy games, card and word games. While there are definitely MANY games appropriate and fun for the younger than 12 age group — since there is purchasing and downloading involved and they don’t have a specific “kids area” I would make sure I was around and supervising before any child younger played.…
