Bloons — Fun Game You can Play here

This is my first time featuring a game you can play on my site. It is a fun one I have liked for a while. It takes forethought and planning which is never a bad thing! Simple premise - you are a monkey allowed to shoot a certain number of darts to pop a certain percentage of balloons on the screen to get to the next level.:-) Enjoy and tell me how you like it.

Smart-Kit — An Amazing Learning and Fun Free Online Site for Children

When I found Smart-Kit my first thought was “wow, this site has SO MANY fun thinking games — it is PERFECT for my site”. The Smartkit site was founded by a Neurologist (M.D.) and has many fun and educational games in several categories. Every once in a while, the founding Neurologist will add an educational post about brain health and enhancement. It would take weeks to go through all their games but I have found a few I whole heartedly recommend. I also recommend checking the site out for yourself and think there is something here for ages 8 on up through adult (and a few for even younger). The ads are just for other games on their site so it is safe to let an older child play independently but the younger children would need your help navigating and figuring out some…

Nintendo World — A COOL Place and Magic Pen — an AWESOME free online Game

NINTENDO WORLD STORE A few weekends ago my family and I went to NYC which is where I grew up. My son is a die hard Pokemon fan and after exploring The Central Park Zoo we went to FAO Schwartz in hopes of finding him cool Pokemon Stuff (My mom loves to buy them treats when they come into the city since it is so rare). We were very surprised when FAO Schwartz (the end all-be all of toy stores) said they did not stock Pokemon stuff but their reasoning was “With the huge Toys R Us in Times Square having some of it and Nintendo World having such a HUGE selection — it just doesn’t make sense”. So we knew the next day would include a trip to Nintendo World in Rockefeller Center.
Wow! I don’t know who was more impressed, my…

Up To Ten Site Review

Hi everyone and a very Happy New Year to all of you! I was so happy to have Cyn tell me bout a kid’s online game site for children that are younger than ten called Up To Ten. Thank you Cyn and if anyone else ever has a site they want me to check out - PLEASE let me know. I love it because it gives me an opportunity to find out about the new site for the blog AS WELL as for my own kids.

Up To Ten has activities for free, a paid membership and has a portion of its sites where schools sign up. The numerous free activities include coloring and artistic pages, games, puzzles, mazes, Boowa and Kwala stories and games (from an animated series I don’t know but cute characters) and creating animated greeting cards. The site is…

Free Online Sites for your Grade-Schooler

This is a strange time in kids online computer games. There are now social platforms much like myspace and facebook (for adults) for children. I address these first 2 broadly in my other post on Kids Computer Game Recommendations Ages 5-8.
So I will start with those in more detail: Club Penguin and Nicktropolis offer lots for free and Club Penguin offers a lot more if you sign up to be a full member for $6/month. Both will need a parent to enroll and check emails for enrollment information and to set settings. I recommend setting the settings as stringent as possible. Though Disney (owns Club Penguin who they just bought for $350 million) and Nickelodeon obviously are doing everything they can to keep kids safe on these platforms — it is still new and I sleep better at night knowing I can…
