Carolyn was one of the first people I connected with when I joined The Wellness Universe. Her story mirrored mine so much that I knew we were kindred spirits. Carolyn also found her love and passion in helping people heal in healing herself. When I went to her website and read the story about her daughter, it touched my heart as did Carolyn’s energy and fortitude. Carolyn and I bonded over what we experienced in being sick and healing and she was kind enough to feature my story on her website. Carolyn is a love and is very inspirational and I feel is totally aligned with her life’s work. It is my great pleasure to introduce you to Carolyn Harrington and I am honored to have her here as a guest!

1) Please tell us a quote that you aim to live by- whether it be your own or from someone else that has inspired you.
“Strive for Imperfection; it’s easier that way.”
Striving not to be perfect may sound like a strange quote to live by, but let me explain.
We as humans are not meant to be perfect in everything we do. By striving for imperfection, you are human. If you attempt to be perfect 100% of the time, you are bound to fail and become frustrated, and stressed. Personally, I prefer to live my life as stress-free as possible.
Here’s an example. When I began knitting awhile back, I found myself getting frustrated when I made a mistake. I would try to fix the error by pulling out stitches and redoing that section. It didn’t always work so I would get mad.
Then it occurred to me, if I kept the mistake, it would be a sign that it was handmade with love. It wasn’t just reproduced on some machine. I loved the thought of that and was never stressed about knitting again.
So, now I strive for imperfection. It shows our human side which is much more personal and loving.
2) Tell us about a moment when one of your greatest shifts occurred in your life or in one of your clients’ lives.
I became a mom on a mission desperate to help her regain her health. But for a child that age, there weren’t a lot of options. So I began researching natural ways to heal.
But that was only half the story.
I became so stress that my body “broke” and the doctors diagnosed me with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I could barely move, and it took me 15 minutes to get out of bed each day.
I realized I had to do something to help not only Maty but also help myself.
I began to learn many healing techniques and became certified as a holistic health practitioner. I also became proficient in an applied kinesiology technique called muscle testing.
While doing research, I found many old time remedies that had been used effectively for years.
Then I had my “aha” moment.
I realized that if I used my applied kinesiology skills to enhance these age-old remedies, the result could be a more powerfully effective solution. And it was. The results were amazing. It was at this time that I began developing Maty’s Healthy Products all natural remedies.
3) Please let us know and describe one to three things that you are passionate about in what you do – (for work or for play or both)
I am passionate about my family and keeping them healthy. I don’t know of too many Moms that aren’t. But after what we endured as a family, I am determined to keep my family healthy. They will be the first to tell you that they were my guinea pigs whenever I found a new technique or natural remedy.
Today my grown children (and my husband) come to me and ask what they should do when they are injured or sick.
I am also passionate about helping others heal. What started as a journey to gain my health back, has led me down a path of healing others, which brings me to the writing of my blog, The Art of Healing. I want to empower others by giving them the information and knowledge they need to begin their journey of healing. With the power to heal, sickness and disease do not have to be scary. Instead, they can be a wake-up call to change your life for the better.
4) If you could give one piece of advice, one action to take, or one tool to empower people right now what would that be?
Everyone has the power to heal themselves!
We all have everything we need within us to heal. We just need to know how to tap into it.
We have the power to inform ourselves of what western medicine is not telling us. We have the power to quiet our minds and our souls to reach within for an answer to the problems we are facing.
Most importantly, we have the ability to educate ourselves with the knowledge to know what is right for our bodies.
5) If you were to offer one of your services or products that best represents what you do, what would it be and how can the readers find out more?
What started as a journey to heal myself and my daughter, has turned into a journey to help others heal. I want to pay it forward by sharing my knowledge of healing and healthy living through my blog. I invite you to stop by and sign up at www.CarolynHarrington.com.
My natural and organic health products were the result of the many hours of research I spent looking for natural ways to help my daughter, Maty. Made with whole-food ingredients and completely safe, you can find out more at MatysHealthyProducts.com
Thank you, Jenny, for giving me this opportunity!
In truth, love, and healing,
Carolyn
Thank you for sharing Carolyn’s words of wisdom, Jenny. The beauty with Ayurveda and other forms of therapy is the quest to get to the root of the illness and treat from within instead of treating the symptoms.
Thanks so much Vatsala, Carolyn is very inspirational and I am so grateful for you reading. You are right on – when we treat from within we can truly heal and not just treat or mask symptoms. It is a very important distinction. Thank you so much for being here. <3 Sending blessings, xo
An amazing healing journey. Thank you, Jenny, for sharing Carolyn with us, and thank you, Carolyn, for sharing your story.
