How to Outwit a Narcissist (Without Losing Your Sanity) 2/18/2025
I have learned a trick or two,
For dealing with those who think it’s all about you-know-who.
The ones who twist words like a carnival ride,
Leaving you dizzy, doubting what’s real inside.
First things first—empathy is key,
Not for them, but for you and me.
They crave your reaction, your tears, your despair,
But you? Intend to keep floating, light as air.
When they come in hot with a tale so grand,
Just smile and nod, but don’t extend a hand.
No need to engage, no need to defend,
Just watch as their chaos folds in the wind.
Boundaries, are truly your magic shield,
A fortress so strong, your power revealed.
A simple “No,” a firm “That won’t do,”
Turns their tricks to a sad déjà vu.
Keep your dreams in a treasure chest tight,
Far from their reach, far out of sight.
They sniff out your goals like a fox on the prowl,
But you can choose to wear a knowing smile.
And when they push, when they scheme, when they fight,
Please stay calm, a beacon of light.
No fuel for their fire, no stage for their show,
Just peace in your pocket, a quiet “Let go.”
And should they cry, “You are the bad person, not me!”
Lean on your friends, your trusted army.
They see you, they know you, they hold your truth tight,
When gaslighted skies try to darken your light.
And if it’s too much, if it’s draining your soul,
Pack up your love and go fully no-go.
No contact, no drama, just sweet, sacred space,
A life they no longer have power to chase.
So dance in your freedom, let peace be your tune,
No longer a puppet beneath their monsoon.
You’ve outwitted, outshone, out-loved them, with your true heart,
And that, my sweet soul, is the ultimate art.
